This event is open to all. If you are not a USCF rated player we will have open free play upstairs. Bring your chess board. 

 

 No onsite regisration for rated tournament.

Participation agreement

This is not a drop off program/event. By registering in this event, parents, teachers and supervising adults agree to manage their son, daughter or students and provide adequate supervision via you or your child's teacher or an assigned adult over the age of 21 for participants during the tournament. 

By participating in this event, you agree, your child's image will be used for the promotion and documentation of chess activities on the internet or social media to promote Chess Girls DC and the DC Scholastic events.

There is a zero tolerance for cheating. No chatting between players during games. Parents release, waive and forever discharge DC Chess Association, Chess Girls DC and its agents, employees, volunteers, officers, Library staff and trustees from any and all claims or liability for injury or damages (including loss or damage to property) arising from or attributable to (player, your student or children) child’s participation in the tournament. You, the parent or teacher or guardian must provide adequate supervision.  Students must start games on time. Organizer cannot restart game. Participants may not be allowed to participate in the Chess tournament 1.) if the organizers identify the student cheating 2.)  if they feel there is not adequate supervision by teachers or parents as required by the organizer.  No exceptions to the above statements. Notation encouraged. Students encouraged to bring lunch. No refunds within 5 days of tournament. All USCF rules apply.

To Enter the online Tournament

In the event over the board tournament is cancelled

Shortcut to tournament https://lichess.org/team/dc-scholastic-coed-k-12-chess-tournaments


When you click on the link it will take you to the Team. You must have a free Li chess account. 

There will be a button that says join team if you have not played with us before.

Click on the join team button. It will take you to a page where you will have to scroll down and complete a captcha by solving a chess puzzle.

After you solve the puzzle click join team.

It will tell you your request is being review by a team leader. We will accept your request. Your request will be accepted immediately.

Refresh the page.

You will be able to see tournaments.

Click on your tournament affiliated with your grade.

Click join tournament.

It will ask you for a password. Use dcchess

At this point you are in the tournament
